9.2/10 Wonderful! (1,004 reviews)
This is our third time staying at the Scotsman. This time we selected a director room with city view, we stayed in room 702, it had wonderful views and a dining table surrounded by windows. We also chose to include breakfast, which I would also recommend considering. We have stayed in hotels in "new town" before also, but it wasn't the same. Different atmosphere and not as walkable. Staff are extremely helpful.

The heating wasn't great, and there was a cold draft from the window. I feel freezing in bed.

The location was perfect for a weekend trip to Edinburgh, close to the Royal Mile and Edinburgh castle. The room was well appointed although very small. Our room was not ready at check-in time which I find unacceptable for a highly rated and relatively expensive hotel. Also, the room was not cleaned until about 5pm which was a bit disruptive to our day. I would stay here again for a night or two but not longer.
